Back to work…
I do love my job. I really do.
It’s creative, I work with really great people and I get paid a very fair rate. It does take up a lot time though.
3 weeks ago - I finished my month off. You can read about how that went here. That first monday - I drove to Bristol - and used the drive to get the DJI Pocket 3 set up on my dash of my car so I could record my thoughts as I drive. It works really well. During this week of commuting I also got a flat tire, got it fixed at Kwik-Fit 2 weekends ago.
After work, I would get home at about 7:30pm and work on the websites, script content ideas and keep actively running through the many “to do” items on my Trello board. The result after two weeks of burning the candle hard was I got the flu… or a bad cold really. I certainly wasn’t the Rona - I tested several times. There seems to be quite a lot of it about at the moment.
I’m over it now, but the cough and blocked nose is still there. Normally, I get ill when I have time off. I relax and I catch something that knocks me out for a week. I had 2 days off work. I wasn’t well and I guess that is due to working long hours both on my “day job” and my own projects at night.
Going to bed at 3am is just plain silly. I won’t be doing that again! It’s now 12 minutes past midnight as I write this entry and my eyes are tired. I’m going to have to catch up on some sleep this weekend and hopefully kick this sinus infection that’s making me feel terrible.
The last 3 weeks have flown past, and every day - Im getting a backlog of media I shoot during the days. I have simplified the copying of this media with a bit of software called “OffShoot” and it simply copies the media on an SD card to a pre-determined location. It’s also smart enough to know if that media has already been copied so you don’t end up with piles of duplicates in the same dated folders.
So, with all that said - I’m going to sit here and watch some YouTube, have a 0% Guinness and go to bed “early”.
